Chapter Philanthropy and Service
Philanthropy and Service play a major role in the life of a ZTA. It is one of the most important... and fun aspects of sorority life. Our philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, was adopted as the Fraternity's national philanthropy in 1992. Our philanthropy focuses on Breast Cancer research, education, screening and treatment which has brought enthusiastic support from Alumnae and collegians, whose mothers, grandmothers, sisters and friends have been touched by the disease. Eta Mu is proud to be apart of a philanthropy that makes daily strides against Breast Cancer!
Each Fall, we host a week of fun events and fundraisers known as Pink Week. Pink Week is full of PINK, daily philanthropy events, and of course our major fundraiser to conclude the week! In addition to Pink Week, we have the amazing opportunity to volunteer annually in Downtown Augusta, GA with Miracle Mile.
During our events we hand out pink ribbons to spread awareness. Look out for these ribbons on campus, you may see someone on campus with our ribbon attached to their book bag!
Within the past academic year, Eta Mu raised $13,990 for our national philanthropy. Additionally, as a chapter, we had a total of 3,265 service hours from the 2023-2024 academic year.
Outside of our philanthropy, Eta Mu has raised $3,646 for the Children's Hospital of Georgia with Jaguar Miracle within the past year.
The ladies of Eta Mu strive to reach many lives through the works of our philanthropy and to “think in terms of all mankind and our service to the world.”
Breast Cancer Education and Awareness is at the heart of Eta Mu, and we can't wait to share more with you so soon!
